As reported by the regional police today, December 13, the appropriate sentence was handed down to the 39-year-old criminal by the Kamianets-Podilskyi City and District Court.

Law enforcement officers recalled that the body of a 37-year-old resident of the village of Zinkivtsi was found on October 27 last year at around 5:00 a.m. on a path near the old city cemetery in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

The deceased was found by her mother, who called the police.

The local police, as well as the forensic laboratory and investigative team from the regional center, immediately went to the scene of the incident.

During the week, the law enforcement officers did a great job.

About 150 police officers were involved in solving the crime every day.

They processed videos from more than 100 surveillance cameras, conducted yard patrols in almost the entire Zhovtnevy microdistrict, and interviewed about 600 people.

In general, the police identified about half a hundred potential suspects. A number of examinations were ordered in the case.

As a result, the law enforcement officers managed to identify the perpetrator.

He turned out to be a 39-year-old local resident, who in 2005 was already convicted of murdering his own wife and was released from prison only in 2019.

The panel of judges of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City and District Court sentenced the man to life imprisonment under para.

115 (Intentional murder committed by a person who previously committed intentional murder combined with rape or sexual violence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The judges also satisfied the civil suit of the next of kin and ordered the convict to pay 1 million hryvnias to each of them.
