New Delhi:

A meeting of the collegium was held in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

In the meeting, a consensus was reached on the issue of promoting five judges as judges of the Supreme Court.

Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Pankaj Mittal, Patna High Court CJ Justice Sanjay Karol, Manipur High Court CJ Justice PV Sanjay Kumar, Patna High Court Judge Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Allahabad High Court Judge Justice Manoj Mishra were recommended to be made Supreme Court judges.

Knowing behind the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium to appoint Patna High Court Judge Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah as a Supreme Court judge, he is also giving the argument that Justice S. Abdul Nazeer is retiring on January 4.

At present, Justice Nazeer is the only judge who is from the Muslim community.

Along with this, a consensus has also been reached on the names of the Chief Justices of the Gauhati High Courts of Jharkhand, Kashmir and Assam.

The name of Justice Sanjay Mishra has been decided for Jharkhand, while it has been decided to recommend the name of Justice N Koteshwar Singh as the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir.

Along with this, the name of Vinod Chandran has been agreed upon for Guwahati.
