[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] South Korea played against the Hong Kong team in the Asian Rugby Sevens League in November. They accidentally played the Hong Kong anti-extradition song "Glory to Hong Kong" in public and mistook it for the Hong Kong national anthem.

Subsequently, Hong Kong officials asked Google to replace it with the Chinese national anthem. In response, Google responded that the search results are formed by algorithms and cannot be tampered with by humans, and declined China's request.

According to the Guardian, the Asian rugby sevens series was in full swing in South Korea last month. However, in the final match between South Korea and Hong Kong, the organizers of the game accidentally played the theme song of the 2019 Hong Kong Anti-Extradition Bill Protest against China. "Glory to Hong Kong" was mistaken for the national anthem of Hong Kong.

In response, Hong Kong officials condemned South Korea's actions, which they considered a serious political incident.

Although the organizer of the game has apologized to the Hong Kong authorities and clarified that it was human negligence, it still cannot appease the anger of the Hong Kong authorities.

Organizers said staff downloaded the top national anthem result on Google's search engine, emphasizing that the misbroadcast of the protest theme song was not intentional.

The Hong Kong Security Bureau turned to Google, requesting to withdraw the search results for the Hong Kong national anthem, but was declined. Google explained that such search results are generated by algorithms and cannot be tampered with manually.

Director Deng Bingqiang said that he regretted being rejected, and believed that the search results jumping out of "Glory to Hong Kong" would hurt the feelings of Hong Kong people.
