Some people, allegedly posing as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers, raided a businessman's house in Bhawanipur area of ​​West Bengal's capital Kolkata and took away Rs 30 lakh and jewellery.

Police gave this information. According to the complaint lodged by businessman Suresh Wadhwa (60) at Bhawanipur police station, a group of seven-eight people reached his house at Roopchand Mukherjee Lane at around 8 am on Monday and "raided". started.

All of them were calling themselves CBI officers.

When contacted, Wadhwa said, "These people had come in three vehicles which had police 'stickers' on them.

As soon as I opened the door, he came inside and told me that he was a CBI officer.

I asked them to show their 'cards' but they did not pay attention to me." The businessman claimed that they took away Rs 30 lakh in cash and jewelery worth around Rs seven lakh and told them that in some time ' A 'List of seized articles' will be sent.

Wadhwa said, “They made a list of the seized items at my house itself but said they would send it later.

He also said that I will be summoned to his office soon.

A senior police officer told that the detective department of Kolkata Police along with its personnel of Bhawanipur police station has started the investigation of the case.

The police officer said that footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area is being scanned to trace the three vehicles used by the accused.
