"Sooner or later, the military aid must end. And it will end when the peace talks begin," ANSA quoted him as saying.

"None of the parties wants negotiations. We need an authoritative figure capable of conducting negotiations. I hope that the European Union will be able to play the role of a mediator," he also pointed out.

Duda: NATO will not treat Russia the way Moscow treats Ukraine

In March, Italy's parliament passed a resolution on aid, including military aid, to Ukraine.

The government presented a list of weapons to be delivered to the country.

However, this list is classified information.

On December 1, the Italian government extended military aid to Ukraine throughout 2023. Although work on the new package has not yet begun, it is assumed that the list of weapons will again be classified.

Rome has never disclosed details of the weapons it sent to Kiev after the Russian invasion.

According to Italian and Ukrainian media, however, previous deliveries included multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), Pzh2000 howitzers and armored vehicles.

In October, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on Italy to increase supplies of military equipment to Ukraine, as Kiev needs them.

In a number of European countries, however, the question was raised that the endless military aid to Ukraine reduces the defense capability of the European NATO members themselves.

By sending their weapons to Ukraine, European countries are disarming their own armies and there is nothing to replace the delivered weapons.
