The former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Mykola Malomuzh, believes that Russia will continue to fire missiles at Ukraine, but Putin is unlikely to dare to use nuclear weapons.

He said this on the air of the Freedom TV channel.

"Putin's entire strategy is based on some kind of victory. While there are no victories, there are only defeats, and therefore they will advance in the eastern direction. This is necessary to maintain Putin's image and for the military to show Putin some victories. But in the long run, Putin will try to raise the stakes so that to scare Ukraine and the West. Russia will fire at the civilian population, infrastructure, energy. Russia still has several hundred missiles, but we also have stronger air defense, so the effect will be less," said Malomuzh.

The former head of Ukrainian intelligence emphasized that many world leaders are dissatisfied with Putin's actions in the war against Ukraine.

"Putin crossed the line by shelling civilian infrastructure. This is not liked not only by NATO countries, but also by China and Turkey, because it is terror and acts of genocide. Nuclear threats and missile terror are already international terrorism. And this is evidenced by the statements of the G7, this is hinted at by China and India, whose authorities even refused to meet with Putin. Also, even Erdogan calls a spade a spade. Putin wants to suppress the spirit of the Ukrainian people, because he did not expect such a reaction. Putin will continue to shell Ukraine and threaten with nuclear weapons. But "The West has already warned Putin that there will be a reaction to the threat. That's why I don't think he will dare to do it, because Putin is afraid of death and retaliation," Malomuzh said.

Russia's war against Ukraine

On February 24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine.

The invaders moved from the north, south and east.

The Russians were counting on a blitzkrieg and the establishment of a puppet regime in Ukraine.

Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR of the MoD, believes that Russia planned to appoint state traitor Viktor Yanukovych as the Gauleiter of Ukraine.

However, the Armed Forces destroyed the plans of the occupiers.

Defense forces conducted successful counteroffensives in the northern regions, in the Kharkiv and Kherson directions.

Currently, the liberation of Ukraine from the Russian invaders continues.
