Prime Minister Kasim Majaliwa has asked the Tanganyika District Council, in the Katavi region to review the contracts for air carbon trade held in the Council, so that the government and citizens can benefit from the business.

Speaking in the Tanganyika district during a three-day visit to the Katavi Region, which he started today December 12, 2022, Prime Minister Majaliwa asked the council to review the agreements with the Carbon Tanzania Limited Company in collaboration with the Tuungane institution that is implementing the project.

He said this immediately after handing over a check of Sh8 billion to the villages benefiting from the air project in Kagunga Village, Tanganyika district.

And the Director of the Tanganyika District Council, Shaban Juma, while reading the information about the implementation of the project, said that despite the success they have achieved, there is still a challenge of little understanding among the people about the business.

On his part, the manager of the air project, resident Marc Baker has explained the areas where they are implementing the project are the villages of Lugonesi, Mwese, Lwega, Bujombe, Kapanga, Katuma, Mpembe and Kagunga.

The Prime Minister has also inspected the construction of the new Referral Hospital in Katavi Region and left instructions to regional leaders to ensure that by January 1, 2023 the hospital starts providing services to the people.
