A protracted war with Ukraine will in any case play against Russia.

This opinion was expressed by Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman of the "East" military group, in an interview with TSN.ua.

"We just feel sorry for our people and resources. But if we take it globally, geostrategically, geopolitically, then of course it is against them. Sanctions begin to act gradually and with each month, they will be felt more and more. With each "cargo of 200", especially cities, it will be felt It will be felt with every defeat. All this will affect public sentiment even in such a totalitarian country as Russia," says Cherevaty.

He does not rule out that a systemic crisis may arise in Russia due to these factors.

"Therefore, I am convinced that a protracted war is not in Russia's favor," Cherevaty concluded.

Earlier, Serhiy Cherevaty told whether the 93rd brigade is really leaving Bakhmut.

It will be recalled that on December 7, Putin announced that the war in Ukraine could drag on for a long time.
