Residents of the flood-affected villages in Karlovsko came out in protest.

According to them, the state has not done enough to deal with the consequences of the disaster.

On the sub-Balkan road between Karlovo and Sopot, people gathered from the three villages submerged in early September - Karavelovo, Bogdan and Slatina.

They closed the road at the fork in the village of Moskovets for a few minutes to express intransigence to the lack of support from the state.

The locals continue to live in their wet homes and the vans are hardly used.

They urgently insist on cleaning the riverbeds and fixing the road infrastructure.

Protest by residents of flooded villages in Karlovsko

"We want real recovery actions to begin.

We have been listening to promises for three months, and nothing is being done," said Ani Ivanova from Karavelovo.

"Much of the cleanup was done by non-specialists.

Every single rain leads to another landslide of sand table.

Harvesting in the Balkans is not over.

We are constantly living in stress, there are prerequisites for the same disaster to happen again," she added.

There is still no street lighting or water in the affected areas.
