Bulgargaz EAD submitted an application for approval of the gas price for January 2023 to the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR)

The price, in the amount of BGN 204.53/MWh or EUR 104.57/MWh, calculated according to the fixing of the BNB (without prices for access, transmission, excise duty and VAT), is formed in accordance with Art.

17 of Ordinance No. 2 of 19.03.2013 on the regulation of natural gas prices, the company announced.

The price offered by Bulgargaz EAD is more than 25% lower than the gas hub prices in Europe for delivery in January 2023, which are currently approximately EUR 139/MWh.

A final proposal to approve the price of natural gas for January 2023 will be submitted to KEVR on 01.01.2023, taking into account the quotations of the pricing components as of 31.12.2022.

KEVR decided to increase the price of natural gas in December.

A price of BGN 146.09/MWh was approved, which does not include access, transmission, excise and VAT costs.

The increase is nearly 19% compared to the November price of BGN 123.01 per megawatt hour.
