As part of the ongoing campaign to prevent accidents in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, the police on Friday challaned two teenagers driving a two-wheeler in Karnprayag.

Police said that apart from confiscating both the two-wheelers, the police have also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000-25,000 on the parents of the minors.

Chamoli Superintendent of Police Pramendra Doval has given instructions to take strict action against those who violate traffic rules to prevent accidents in the district.

During investigation in Karnprayag area, two minor teenagers were found driving a two-wheeler, after being challaned, they were handed over to their relatives.

Police said that both the vehicles have been seized and the parents have been strictly instructed not to allow their minor children to drive vehicles in future, explaining the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
