The person who was hunted and killed was actually a person living in Wutai Township, Pingtung County. The Pingtung District Prosecutor’s Office immediately went to Wutai Township to investigate after receiving the notification last night. Taiwanese black bears, wild goats, and Taiwanese sambars were seized at the murderer’s residence on the spot. The body, prosecutors said, had been brought in violation of the Wildlife Conservation Act.

The Pingtung District Prosecutor’s Office received a notification last night from the Eighth Brigade of the Seventh Security Police Corps of the National Police Administration that a Taiwanese black bear, a first-class protected wild animal, was hunted and killed. The chief prosecutor of the Pingtung District Prosecutor’s Office Zhang Junxiang and prosecutor Zhou Fu Learned to direct the investigation and found that a Taiwanese black bear was hunted by the people in Ailiao Beixi, Wutai Township, Pingtung County. The prosecutor told the public that 200,000 yuan should be released on bail.

The Pingtung District Prosecutor’s Office stated that the motive for the hunting and the relevant circumstances of the case still need to be clarified, and further investigations are still underway. It emphasizes that those who hunt, catch or kill wild animals under conservation without the permission of the competent authority can be sentenced to 6 months to 5 years in prison , and a fine of 200,000 to 1 million yuan will be imposed. People should not defy the law; if anyone deliberately hunts and kills conservation animals illegally, the local procuratorate will strictly investigate and deal with them quickly. If they destroy ecological conservation by chance, they will face prosecution and Criminal responsibility, calling on the public to abide by relevant hunting regulations, taking into account the balance between culture and wildlife conservation, so as to ensure the sustainable and balanced development of wild animal ecology in the mountains and forests.
