The caretaker government will be ready by the end of the year with the draft of the Law on the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria prepared by it.

This was announced by Finance Minister Rositsa Velkova

Rositsa Velkova was born on March 16, 1972 in Sofia.

Acquired a master's degree in finance during the forum "Bulgaria in the Eurozone - advantages and opportunities", organized by KRIB and Dir.bg, quoted by economic.bg.

She said it was among the "key documents" being prepared by the cabinet since it took office in September.

The law aims to regulate public relations related to the adoption of the euro as the official currency in the country.

It will fix the exchange rate, how the leva will be taken out of circulation, what will be the method and term for exchanging money in cash, the rules for converting prices, wages, social benefits, consumer protection measures, sanctions and others .

The topic occupies an increasingly important place in life in the country," commented Velkova.

The adoption of the so-called Euro Law is a practice that began with the entry of the Baltic countries into the currency union.

In practice, the law will cover the points written in the draft Plan for the adoption of the euro.

The minister pointed out that other legislative changes, again related to the change of currency, have already been prepared and submitted to the parliament.

An example of this is the proposed changes to the BNB Law and the Trade Law.

All of them are part of the Plan for the adoption of the euro in Bulgaria, which was adopted earlier this year.

The Finance Department is also working hard on a communication strategy and an information campaign for the public on the subject of the euro.

This is one of the other major projects of the ministry and the work on it should be completed soon.

This will allow the business to launch information and communication campaigns for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria next year.

We remind you that only a day earlier, at its press conference, big business appealed to the government to soon start a similar campaign and allocate a budget for it, reported Economic.bg.

Today, the minister also indicated that an analysis of the survey released last month to small and medium-sized enterprises is currently being carried out for their possible difficulties and new costs when changing the currency.

Its results are expected by the end of the month.
