Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav has won by more than 2 lakh 88 thousand votes in the by-election for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.

He defeated BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya.

Congratulating Dimple Yadav on her victory, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar tweeted that hearty congratulations to Samajwadi Party candidate Smt.

Congratulations and best wishes to Samajwadi Party President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav.

Hearty congratulations to Smt. Dimple Yadav, Samajwadi Party candidate from Mainpuri parliamentary constituency, Uttar Pradesh on her landslide victory in the Lok Sabha by-election.

Significantly, by-elections were held on one Lok Sabha and two assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.

In this, BJP candidate Akash Saxena has won the Rampur assembly seat and RLD candidate Madan Bhaiya has won the Khatauli assembly seat. The Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after the death of Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Shivpal Yadav also supported Dimple Yadav.

Dimple Yadav has also got a lot of votes in her constituency Jaswantpur.
