New nine majors to enter the List of state-protected professional majors for the 2023/2024 academic year, the Ministry of Education and Science proposes.

The list is published for public discussion on the website of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Seven of the specialties are from the professional direction "Construction" - "Construction carpentry", "Construction tinsmithing", "Interior linings", "Roofs", "Metal constructions", "Dry construction" and "Builder of railways and related equipment". .

The other two are "Classic Instruments" for the profession "Luthier" from the professional field "Applied Arts and Crafts" and "Design, modeling and technology of leather goods" from the professional field "Production Technologies - Textiles, Clothing, Shoes and Leather".

With them, there will be a total of 60 vocational specialties protected by the state. These are specialties that are unique in content and each of them is taught in no more than four schools in the country.

The training in them is carried out according to state admission in a class with at least 9 students.

Nearly 12,000 students are enrolled in dual education

One specialty is removed from the list - "Windows and glazing", as it no longer meets the criterion of uniqueness on a territorial basis.

The list of specialties with an expected shortage of specialists on the labor market for the academic year 2023/2024 should also be updated with six new ones, the MES also suggests.

Two majors are from the professional field "Forestry" - "Logging" and "Forestry Mechanization".

Two others are from the professional field "Construction" - "Main and Finishing Works" and "Construction and Architecture", and the rest are "Software Assurance" from the professional field "Computer Science" and "Logistics of Cargo and Services" from the professional field "Transport services'.

Thus, the specialties with an expected shortage of specialists on the labor market will become a total of 84. Training in them is carried out according to state admission in a class with at least 12 students.

The lists have been updated with proposals from nationally representative employer organizations and ministries.

It is planned to be applied from the 2023/2024 school year for the students admitted to the VIII grade according to the state admission.
