As a resident of Baku, I don't like most of the statues erected in recent years.

Elbay Gasimzade, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Architects, said this in response to APA's question.

He noted that the statues are not suitable for the city of Baku. "Why did it happen? He says, I don't know, it was done like this. However, there is one issue: this is not someone's garden or yard, it is not built there. Baku is our capital city, society's protest is normal."

Elbay Gasimzade also spoke about the innovations of today's congress: "For the first time in this year's congress, the Council of Elders will be established and its members will be elected.

We have a youth club, now they will have joint work with the Council of Elders and will gain serious experience."

It should be noted that the 20th Congress of Azerbaijani Architects is being held today at the International Mugam Center.

At the congress, Elbay Gasimzade was re-elected as the Chairman of the Board of the Union.
