The Samajwadi Party had to face defeat in the assembly by-elections held in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.

The reaction of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has come regarding this defeat.

In a special conversation with NDTV, he said that everyone knows how Rampur was rigged.

We want re-polling to be held there.

Akhilesh Yadav further said that even after repeated complaints, the action which should be taken by the Election Commission was not done.

The booths where Samajwadi Party always used to get good votes, people have been beaten up when they came out.

Some have got injuries.

If the Election Commission does not see all this, then on whom will we trust. 

Please tell that Akash Saxena of BJP has defeated Asim Raza of Samajwadi Party with a huge margin in Rampur.

Asim Raza is considered close to Azam Khan by the Samajwadi Party.

The Rampur seat has been won by Azam Khan and his family members continuously since 1980, except for one defeat.

Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav has won by more than 2 lakh 88 thousand votes in the by-election for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Dimple Yadav is the wife of Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav and daughter-in-law of late leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Dimple Yadav got a total of 6 lakh 17 thousand 625 votes, while BJP's Raghuraj Singh Shakya, who came second, got 3 lakh 29 thousand 489 votes.

By-elections were held on one Lok Sabha and two assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.

In this, BJP candidate Akash Saxena has won on Rampur assembly seat and RLD candidate Madan Bhaiya has won on Khatauli assembly seat.
