[Reporter Peng Jianli/Miaoli Report] Miaoli County Magistrate-elect Zhong Dongjin announced before the election that he would donate election subsidies to social welfare organizations in the county. He won 124,603 votes. Today he fulfilled his promise and held a press conference at the Miaoli County Council , donated 3,738,090 yuan to 7 educational institutions for the disabled and 24 social welfare groups for the disabled.

County magistrate Xu Yaochang, his wife Cai Liqing, deputy speaker Li Wenbin and others were also present to witness.

Cai Liqing, who served as the chairman of Zhong Dongjin's campaign headquarters during the election, said that during Zhong Dongjin's tenure as speaker, he donated one million salary to support education every year. So far, it has exceeded 5 million yuan, helping many young students.

Today's donation is not only Zhong Dongjin's fulfillment of his first promise to his fellow villagers, but also a timely donation to social welfare groups that have been hit by the epidemic and whose fundraising amount has been greatly reduced, helping disadvantaged friends to survive the warm winter.

Zhong Dongjin said that today’s donation, excluding himself, would like to thank the 124,602 fellow villagers for their support. He believes that society needs everyone to help each other.
