[Reporter Qian Lizhong/Taipei Report] Wang Hongwei, a candidate for the by-election of the legislator of the 3rd constituency of the Kuomintang in Taipei City, was threatened by telephone. The police arrested the man surnamed Cai involved in the case last night (7th) in Kaohsiung City. He confessed that it was because of his political ideas, Dissatisfied with Wang Hongwei's remarks, she made a threatening phone call. This morning she was transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office for the crime of intimidation.

According to the investigation by the police, 65-year-old Cai Nan called the switchboard of the Taipei City Council with his mobile phone at about 3 pm on the 6th of this month, and then transferred to Wang Hongwei's office. Don't talk about the underworld anymore, or you will shoot" and other words, then hung up the phone.

After receiving the report, the police set up a special case team and reported it to the command of the North Police Department. After filtering suspicious persons and phone calls, they quickly identified Cai Nan as a serious suspect, and went south to Kaohsiung last night to arrest him.

During the interrogation, Cai Nan admitted to making threatening phone calls. The police have seized his mobile phone and other evidence.
