Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the most influential world leader on Twitter in 2022.

He was followed by US President Joe Biden and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

As digi24 reports, the ranking compiled by the Twiplomacy platform, which has been closely monitoring the progress of digital diplomacy since 2012, includes 50 political figures from around the world.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in 7th place in this ranking, which is dominated by leaders of Latin America, and French President Emmanuel Macron is in 12th position.

Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz was at the bottom of the ranking - only in 48th place among the most influential world leaders in this social network.

Twiplomacy said in a statement that "the first three places in this ranking went to leaders with a bright personality, geopolitical influence and a large number of supporters at the national level."

These are the factors that determine the importance that a world leader has on the Twitter platform.

Data from October 2, 2021 to September 30, 2022 were analyzed to determine the impact.

The algorithm paid attention to such indicators as mentions, publications, redistribution of publications, volume, "likes" and the number of people who subscribed to a certain account.

The first places in the ranking, Twiplomacy notes, do not necessarily mean a high share of the domestic popularity of these leaders - several politicians who occupy the high rungs actually face leadership problems in their country.

We will remind you that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky became the person of 2022 according to the version of the British newspaper Financial Times.
