The Diet of Lithuania called on the leadership of Lithuania, all structures of the European Union, European countries, NATO, the United Nations and the OSCE to respond to serious systematic violations of human rights in Belarus.

"Now in Belarus, there are about 1.5 thousand political prisoners, tens of thousands are detained, among the political prisoners there are minor children, political prisoners are forced to wear identification marks, they are subjected to violence, torture, mockery, they are not provided with timely medical care, and the lawyers who defend political prisoners are deprived of their licenses. ", the resolution notes.

The approval of the resolution was initiated by the deputy of the Diet

Davile Shakalene.

"We must consistently, systematically repeat, repeat and repeat that political prisoners must be released, that minor political prisoners - children imprisoned for political reasons - must be released, that medical care for political prisoners is mandatory.

Even if it seems that it will not change anything now, or we do not hope and feel that the regime of Alexander Lukashenko will still not pay attention to our words, but this is our moral duty," said Davile Shakalene.
