Brutal Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure did not break the backbone of Ukrainians, but only strengthened resistance to the invasion of Putin's occupiers.

This was stated by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, the press service of the Pentagon reports.

According to him, the Russian dictator continues to make disastrous mistakes in Russia's war against Ukraine.

"The Russian war against Ukraine has been going on for 10 months, and Putin has been defeated in general. The Ukrainians repelled the first attack on Kyiv, and then held out in the battles in the east of the country. Ukrainian troops launched a counterattack in the Kharkiv region, which pushed the Russians away from the second largest city in country, and then pushed the Russians out of the strategic city of Kherson," Milli said.

However, the American general predicts that there is still a significant amount of fighting ahead.

"But right now, the situation on the ground is that the (conflict. - Ed.) lines are stabilizing, and as winter approaches, things will slow down a bit because of the frost. Then there will be a potential opportunity for both sides to advance in the dead of winter because of the weather and terrain." - added the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the USA.

Milli called Russian missile attacks on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure unacceptable.

"They are trying to break the backbone, break the will of the Ukrainian people. But this led to an increase in the level of stability and resistance on the part of the Ukrainian people," he emphasized.

Britain's Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Tony Radakin, added that the war against Ukraine should be a deterrent to other nations, alluding to China's desire to seize Taiwan.

"Russia made this catastrophic mistake (invasion of Ukraine. - Ed.). The Russian Federation is now diplomatically isolated and economically crippled," he concluded.

Earlier, Mark Milley called the liberation of Crimea by military means unlikely.

Milli also hinted that Ukrainians should think about negotiations with Russia.

For his part, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, emphasized that the Ukrainian military will not accept any agreements or compromise decisions with the Russian Federation.

In his opinion, the only condition for negotiations is that Russia must leave all captured territories of Ukraine.
