[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] The United States announced that it has approved the sale of 18 CH-47F helicopters and related equipment to South Korea. The security of allies in support of U.S. foreign policy and national security goals.
According to a press release issued by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency of the United States, South Korea requested from the United States to purchase 18 CH-47F helicopters, 42 T55GA-714A engines, 22 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), 44 RT-1987 Security Radio, AN/APR-39 Radar Warning System, AN/ARC-220 HF Airborne Communication System, AN/APX-123A IFF IFF and AN/ARN-147, AN/ARN 153, AN/ APN-209 radar altimeter and logistic support repair service.

The arms sale can strengthen the South Korean Army's heavy-duty transport capabilities and improve South Korea's ability to deal with current and future threats. The CH-47F helicopter will allow South Korea to perform bilateral combat tasks, and the US State Department has approved the arms sale.
