This is stated in the press service of the agency.

SBU officers searched the facilities of the UOC (MP) in Kherson, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr and Volyn regions.

The SBU established that the abbot of the Assumption Cathedral in Kherson was present in the Kremlin during the announcement of the annexation of four Ukrainian regions by the President of the Russian Federation.

A few days before the liberation of Kherson, the priest fled with Russian soldiers to the occupied territory of the region.

On the territory of the Dormition Cathedral, SBU officers also discovered a collection of icons stolen by the Russian military from the house of the honorary consul of Lithuania during the occupation of the city by Russian troops.

In addition, in the church premises of the cathedral, the SBU found the Russian passports of local priests, issued by them during the occupation of the city, and passes issued in the name of the "federal adviser of the military-civil administration of the Russian Federation".

According to these facts, SBU investigators opened criminal cases under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("treason committed under martial law").

In the dioceses of Zhytomyr, Volyn, and Cherkasy regions, the SBU found flags of the so-called "Navorossiya", propaganda literature by Russian authors, texts of prayers "for Russia" and Russian textbooks in which "the Kremlin regime is praised."

All materials confiscated during searches were sent for expert examination for further procedural actions.
