IIT Kanpur issued guidelines for GATE 2023 exam, know what the institute said

GATE 2023 Exam:

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is conducting GATE 2023 this year.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering exam is to be held in February from 4th.

The exam will be held on 4, 5, 11 and 12 February.

IIT Kanpur has issued guidelines for the students appearing in GATE 2023 exam.

The institute has issued this guideline for differently-abled students.

Guidelines for students with disabilities are available on the official website of the institute at gate.iitk.ac.in, from where they can check.

IIT Kanpur has stated in its guidelines that it will provide the facility of Scribe/Reader/Lab Assistant to all those candidates who have not less than 40 percent benchmark disability.

As per the official statement, persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both hands affected) and cerebral palsy will be eligible for the facility of scribe/reader/lab assistant.

The examination authorities have further said that if other candidates under the category want to avail this facility, they will have to submit a certificate as per Appendix-A in the GATE 2023 Information Brochure.

The authorities have renamed the term "extra time" as "compensatory time" and students with disabilities who require a scribe will get 20 minutes per hour in the exam.

Candidates with dyslexia will be given a reader on production of proof of dyslexic status.

Not only this, the institute said that the visually impaired students can contact the representative of the GATE Institute for the Magnified Question Paper during the GATE 2023 exam.
