US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced that the formal accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO will soon be completed.

The Finnish publication Yle writes about it.

According to Blinken, Russian dictator Putin himself made NATO stronger.

"He has already been defeated in many issues related to the war in Ukraine. He believed that he could weaken NATO, and he considered the aspirations of Finland and Sweden for membership in it to be delusional," said Blinken.

He emphasized that the US will fully support Finland and Sweden.

Therefore, soon these countries will join NATO.

"We appreciate the support we received from the United States regarding Finland's NATO membership," said Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden

Tobias Billström

stated that Sweden is committed to cooperation with NATO, noting that this is the number one priority for the government.

The next time the foreign ministers of Sweden and Finland are to meet in two weeks.

We will remind, on November 3, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, said that Sweden and Finland have fulfilled all the requirements for joining NATO, and called on Turkey to ratify the relevant protocol.

It should be noted that Turkey previously demanded written guarantees from Finland and Sweden regarding non-support of "terrorists".
