Ambassadors from 6 countries including Palau, Nauru, Tuvalu, Eswatini, Papua New Guinea, and Haiti visited Wufu National High School today. ) at the scene sang the highest blessing song of the local chief to the teachers and students of Wufu Junior High School, and received the most enthusiastic applause on the spot. In order for the ambassadors to experience the school’s nutritious lunch, Wufuguo Chinese Cuisine selected Taiwanese snacks, salted and crispy chicken as the main course, and winter melon love jade soup as the dessert, which won the praises of the ambassadors. After the meal, the students introduced Kaohsiung’s scenic spots, food and characteristic culture in English. The ambassadors were also allowed to experience traditional children playing with bamboo dragonflies, spinning tops and Chinese orchestra instruments. Students from the BBC Bilingual Club of Wufu Junior High School also acted as welcoming ambassadors, introducing Taiwanese campus life in English throughout the process and displaying the achievements of bilingual teaching.

At Daoming Middle School, ambassadors from the four countries of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, St. Lucia, St. Christopher and Nevis visited, and the school Chinese Orchestra performed a traditional Chinese piece called "Yu Tune". To welcome guests, in order to let teachers and students know about the Caribbean friendly countries, the school also specially planned a small knowledge poster exhibition of the friendly countries, introducing food, clothing, housing and transportation and other related information of the four countries with diplomatic relations with pictures and texts. The international department of the school also specially designed "I Ask" activity encourages students to actively use forms and English to ask questions after reading the poster information. After the activity, each ambassador will choose a question to respond to and publish it in the school magazine.

Xie Wenbin, director of the Education Bureau of Kaohsiung City, said that the school carefully planned a series of activities for the ambassadors to visit, which perfectly reflected the local characteristic culture and showed the effectiveness of bilingual education in Kaohsiung.

Mayor Chen Qimai attaches great importance to bilingual education. In addition to subsidizing schools to hire bilingual club teachers, at least two bilingual clubs should be established to create a friendly bilingual learning environment.
