The Russian army had to supplement its elite tank unit, formed to defend Moscow, with mobilized servicemen.

The 1st Guards Tank Army suffered heavy losses in the Kharkiv region.

This is reported by the Telegraph with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.

The report states that the 1st Guards Tank Army (1st GTA) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was thrown along the defense line in the Luhansk region.

However, its number is much lower than the approved number - 25,000 people.

To supplement this elite unit of the Russian army, the main purpose of which was the defense of Moscow, Russians are now being recruited, who were drafted into the army as part of Putin's "partial mobilization".

According to military experts, the 1GTA used to have at least 500 tanks and other combat vehicles.

This unit suffered significant losses in the battles in the Kharkiv region.

The British Ministry of Defense also added that Russia had created an "almost continuous system of trenches" with a length of 60 km between the Russian border and the temporarily occupied Svatov.

It will be recalled that earlier the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the Russian military command had problems with the material support of the mobilized.

"Mobics" lack shoes, clothes and equipment.

In addition, due to a lack of experience and a weak organization of interaction, there are cases of so-called "friendly fire" between units of the Russian Federation.
