A Plovdiv prisoner is suing the state for BGN 150,000. One of the reasons is the loss of his right eye due to untimely treatment.

The pandizchia claimed that he was not provided with medical care despite his complaints.

He applied drops himself, and subsequently his right eye had to be surgically removed.

In addition, the prisoner complains that he was not referred for treatment to a gastroenterologist, given the pain in the abdominal area and bleeding for months.

He also complained about overcrowding in the cells, poor hygiene, lack of a bathroom and constant access to running hot and cold water, the presence of mold, poor lighting and non-working sockets, as well as not being given a job, writes "Maritsa".

Plovdiv prisoner: I was eaten by insects in the cell, the toilets are a horror movie!

In the end, the magistrates awarded him BGN 2,000 in compensation, and that was based on the complaint of overcrowding in the cells, which was the only one he considered to be justified.

The Pandizchiia requested the annulment of the decision and a new one, but it was refused.

In particular, for his biggest problem - removal of the eye, data has been found that the Prison provided him with consultations from a medical person, and medication therapy was prescribed.

"On the other hand, in relation to this particular health problem, it was found that the claimant had self-medicated with other than his prescribed medication, which was precisely what was found to have caused the deterioration of his eye condition, leading to the surgical removal of the eyeball ", he wrote in the reasons of the court.

In the end, the magistrates accepted that the conditions in the Prison in Plovdiv in no way affected the state of health of the pandizchiya.
