Residents of Kursk, located near the border of Ukraine, were left without heat and hot water.

The reason is the rupture of a section of the thermal highway, which occurred due to sharp temperature fluctuations, because the pipes are badly worn.

40,000 residents of the city are without heating.

This was announced by the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoyt, in the Telegram channel.

"It is planned to complete the dismantling of the damaged section of the network by 8:00 p.m. and install a new one already at night. By the morning of December 8, specialists must fill the heating networks and restore the supply of hot water and heating to kindergartens, schools and 162 residential buildings," the official said.

He stated that the section of the pipeline where the accident occurred is subject to corrosive wear due to periodic flooding by stormwater.

In the Kursk region, they began to form units of the Teroborona and the People's Army

In the Kursk region, from where Russian troops regularly bombard the territory of Ukraine, the formation of a national militia was recently announced.

The governor of the region said that after selection and combat training, the volunteers will help the military guard the territory of the region.

The governor calls the selection "serious."
