Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia from December 7 to 9, reported the Saudi Press Agency, quoted by BTA.

The Saudi media clarifies that Xi's visit will be at the invitation of Saudi King Salman.

During his visit, he will talk with the king and have meetings with the leaders of the countries that are members of the Cooperation Council of the Persian Gulf countries.

He will also participate in the Sino-Arab high-level meeting.

The visit of the President of the People's Republic of China to Saudi Arabia is aimed at "strengthening the historical relations and strategic partnership" between the countries, the Saudi news agency wrote.

As the agency notes, the participants in the meeting will discuss the prospects for economic cooperation.

In late October, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud announced that Xi Jinping planned to visit Riyadh to participate in three meetings with the leaders of Arab countries.

In his words, the kingdom pays "great attention to the upcoming meetings" and is working to make Xi Jinping's visit "successful and bring about the desired results."

Earlier, Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud and China's State Energy Minister Zhang Jianghua held talks, during which the two countries reaffirmed their willingness to cooperate in maintaining stability in the world oil market.

It noted that Saudi Arabia is "China's most reliable oil partner and supplier".

The Saudi minister and the Chinese leader also discussed continuing cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy, in the field of electricity and renewable energy sources, TASS recalls.

In August, Saudi Arabia surpassed Russia in the volume of oil deliveries to China.

According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, the kingdom exported 8.48 million tons of oil to China for a total amount of 6.8 billion dollars.
