For the ninth day, the search for the missing fishermen in the "Mandra" dam near Burgas continues.

In front of BTA, the head of the "Crisis Management, Public Order and Security" service at the Burgas Municipality, Veselin Vassilev, specified that there are several boats in the reservoir today.

At this time, dive teams have suspended the underwater search, but remain ready to respond.

Walks along the banks of the dam by hiking couples, who are still in the field today, have not stopped either.

It has not yet been decided how long the search activities will continue, Vassilev specified.

The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs specified that this issue will probably be discussed in the coming days.

The search for the two fishermen near Burgas continues for a second week

The fishermen who are wanted - 44-year-old Ivelin Todorov from Sredets and 47-year-old Petar Petrov from Burgas - have been missing since November 27.

According to the report received by their relatives to the police the next day, the two entered the reservoir around 11:30 pm in an inflatable boat and were not properly equipped for the low temperatures at night.

The vessel was discovered washed ashore on November 29.

In the first days, the operation to search for the men took place in very bad weather conditions.

So far, the services and volunteers, including from the interior of the country, have used drones with thermal cameras and boats with sonar, but without success.

The diving teams also found no traces.
