Chen Yanbo pointed out that 2,962 people died in road traffic accidents last year, and the number of deaths this year was 2,293 by the end of September. This is an extremely sad figure. The Ministry of Communications is actively accelerating the improvement of traffic, and proposed seven aspects of cross-ministerial committees , 21 improvements in road traffic safety.

Among them, the prevention and control of drunk driving has achieved a little effect, a decrease of 11.4% compared with the same period last year.

In order to protect vulnerable passers-by, the movement of stopping and giving way to pedestrians at automobile and motorcycle intersections was promoted, and the death rate at pedestrian intersections decreased by 15.2% compared with the same period last year.

However, the overall death toll in traffic accidents has not improved significantly. From January to September this year, the death toll increased by 136 compared with the same period last year, an increase of 6.3%. 64% for the elderly, and 40% for the elderly. The Ministry of Communications has worked with the relevant central ministries to develop special projects for the prevention and control of elderly people and motorcycle accidents, and set precise improvement measures for the target groups.
