According to the written report sent by the Ministry of National Defense to the Legislative Yuan, the National Defense Next year, the ministry will expand the 14-day new-style call, increasing the number of staff from 15,000 this year to 22,000, an increase of about 7,000. The number of old-style calls for 5 to 7 days will also remain at about 96,000.

The Ministry of National Defense today sent a written report on the "New-style call, reserve fighters, and the effectiveness of the implementation of the National Defense Mobilization Agency" to the Legislative Yuan. The report revealed that, in conjunction with the verification of the 14-day new call-up training, the number of shooting training hours for various types of weapons has been increased by 2.3 times (The original 12 hours was increased to 28 hours), the shooting ammunition was increased by 2.2 times (the original 86 rounds were increased to 183 rounds), and the passing rate of shooting inspections of various types of weapons increased by 5.9% to 13.7% compared with last year, effectively improving the base of reserve soldiers combat power.

The report also revealed that the hours of the new-style combat coaching course increased by 4.7 times (the original 12 hours increased to 56 hours). According to the task of the troops, subjects such as beach shore, depth, urban combat and important target protection were drilled, and tactical marches were adopted throughout the training. Combined with the handling of various situations during the battle, the passing rate of the inspection has increased by 5.5% to 9.5% compared with last year, which helps to hone the command of cadres and the ability of troops to deal with them.

As the national army has gradually added new training brigades and basic manpower, the national army plans to increase the number of recruits for 14 days by about 7,000 next year, and maintain the total number of recruits for 5 to 7 days.
