New oil fields have been discovered in Iran.

APA's Tehran office reports that Mehdi Fakur, head of the intelligence department of the National Oil Company of Iran, said this.

He said that new oil reserves were discovered in the south-west of the country.

Mehdi Fakur also said that the marine exploration block in the waters of the Gulf was designed by Iranian experts: "The volume of gas reserves in this exploration block is more than 30 trillion cubic feet."

He announced that for the first time, Iran managed to use the aerial magnetometry method to a depth of 7 thousand meters of the Earth's surface using an airplane to determine oil and hydrocarbon deposits.
