[Reporter Zhang Xiesheng/Nantou Report] The time sequence has entered December and the winter solstice is approaching. The Nantou County Government Health Bureau has sampled and inspected a total of 59 items of festive food, including 1 item sold on the Internet. Pesticide residues were found to exceed the standard in "Phase Bean", and the source of the supplier was found to be New Taipei City, and it has been referred to the New Taipei City Health Bureau for handling.

According to the Nantou Health Bureau, it is December and the weather is getting colder. The winter solstice will be on the 22nd, and family reunions to enjoy hot glutinous rice balls and seasonal foods are the most popular.

In order to maintain the food safety of the county residents, the Health Bureau not only sent personnel to physical stores such as fresh supermarkets and traditional markets to inspect winter solstice glutinous rice balls and ingredients, but also strengthened the inspection of the working environment. Since online shopping is more common during the epidemic, it also inspected the e-commerce that sells food. Relevant products were randomly inspected, and the inspection items included pesticide residues, animal drug residues, colorants (rose bengal B), preservatives (benzoic acid, hexadienoic acid, dehydrated acetic acid), colorants and sweeteners, etc. The result was an online fruit and vegetable shop. Pesticide residues detected in the sold "kidney beans" did not meet the requirements.

The Nantou County Health Bureau emphasizes that food safety is the first priority of source management, and calls on food manufacturers to pay attention to the source of ingredients, the sanitation of the manufacturing process, and clear labels on the outer packaging, so that consumers can refer to them and jointly maintain food safety.

Consumers should also be reminded not to buy bulk food from unknown sources. It is best to buy products from reputable merchants whose labels clearly indicate the type and amount of preservatives.

If the public has food safety issues or doubts about consumption, they can call the service hotline of the Health Bureau of Nantou County Government at 049-2231994.
