Vivek Agnihotri had commented on the court's decision in the Bhima-Koregaon violence case.

Vivek Agnihotri, director of the film The Kashmir Files, has tendered an unconditional apology to the Delhi High Court for contempt of court in the Bhima Koregaon violence case.

Agnihotri had made the comment accusing the then Justice S Muralidhar of bias, who granted bail to accused activist Gautam Navlakha in the Bhima Koregaon Violence Case.

Even after apologizing, the court has asked Vivek Agnihotri to appear in the court on March 16, 2023.

The next hearing of the case will be held on the same day.

Vivek Agnihotri apologized when others, including Vivek, did not file a reply despite the court's order.

The court had decided to take ex parte action by the High Court against Agnihotri, Anand Ranganathan and Swarajya news portal.

A bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Talwant Singh of Delhi High Court adjourned the matter till March 16 after considering the affidavit.

The court has asked Vivek Agnihotri to appear on March 16 itself.

The court said that this matter was initiated by the court on its own, therefore, Vivek Agnihotri is directed to appear before the court on the next date.

In a long tweet thread, Vivek claimed a connection between Navlakha and Justice Muralidhar when Gautam Navlakha was granted bail.

For example, he wrote, "Justice Muralidhar's wife - Usha Ramanathan - is a close friend of Gautam Navlakha."

According to a report published in Bar & Bench, some time ago the Delhi High Court had issued a notice against Vivek Agnihotri, Anand Ranganathan and Swarajya News Portal.

After this, this apology has come.

Along with the apology, Vivek also deleted his tweets.
