The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell

Josep Borel Fonteles, a Spanish politician from the Spanish Socialist Workers Party, said today that the latest version of the proposal for an agreement in the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo has already been sent to Belgrade and Pristina, Tanjug reported.

Arriving at the EU-Western Balkans summit in the Albanian capital Tirana, Borel told reporters that now was an important moment for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

"The license plate dispute is over."

The countries must now commit to the dialogue through the proposal that is on the table and to which Germany and France had an important contribution," Borrell explained.

Borel added that it is necessary to hurry, but not to set deadlines for reaching an agreement.

Prime Minister of Kosovo: Josep Borel gave way, not us

"For our part, we are committed to helping the (Western Balkans) region deal with the consequences of the war in Ukraine," Borrell continued.

He also added that the EU will offer the Western Balkans financial assistance to deal with the surge in energy prices and supports Albania in its fight against cyber attacks.

"There is also provision for aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina for demining, because mined areas still exist," Borrell concluded.
