A MiG-21 aircraft of the Croatian Air Force crashed near the town of Daruvar, 120 km east of Zagreb, during a training flight, reports the Croatian Ministry of Defense of the Republic, quoted by BTA.

"The MiG-21 aircraft crashed in a sparsely populated forested area near Slatina, Virovičko-Podravska Oblast, during a planned training flight around 2 p.m. local time (3 p.m. Bulgarian time).

All measures have been taken to search and rescue the crew," the department's announcement said.

"Yutarni List" informs that, according to unofficial data, the accident occurred due to engine failure.

One of the pilots is confirmed to have ejected and radioed and the other pilot is being sought.
