[Reporter Cai Zongxian/Pingtung Report] At 458.5k of Fangshan Road, Pingtung-Taiwan Line, a fatal car accident occurred last night. A locomotive driver was found lying on the road and died on the spot. The logistics tractor that caused the accident was seen fleeing. The Fangliao police traced the line and found that the man surnamed Wang drove for nearly two and three hours before surrendering 100 kilometers away.

According to the police investigation, the 65-year-old driver surnamed Fang who was riding a locomotive was severely injured in the head after being hit by a logistics tractor at the scene at 7 o'clock last night. After the ambulance personnel arrived at the scene, he was determined to be obviously dead. The vehicle that caused the accident actually left the scene before the police arrived. The Fangliao police immediately set up a task force to investigate, and mobilized 20 police officers to hunt down the hit-and-run vehicles. For passing vehicles, they compared the intersection monitors and driving recorders one by one to filter vehicles that might be involved in the case.

The 45-year-old logistics tractor driver knew that he would not escape the law. At 10:10 p.m., he surrendered himself to the Kaohsiung Zuoying Sub-bureau, which is 100 kilometers away from the accident site. As for the detailed cause of the accident, further investigation is still pending.
