On December 3, a freight train departing from Hat Yai (Songkhla) in southern Thailand to Padang Besar (Padang Besar), a border city in Malaysia, derailed and overturned in (Sadao), Songkhla. Eleven of the 20 carriages overturned and no one was injured.

According to the official preliminary investigation that the explosion was caused by human factors, the police found a 2-meter-deep crater after the explosion at the scene, and judged that it was caused by a home-made bomb.

Santi Sakuntanark, commander of the Army's Fourth Military Region, pointed out that the explosion was believed to be planned by rebels in southern Thailand, with the purpose of affecting the economic development of southern Thailand.
