Voting will be held on Monday for the bypolls to Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat and Rampur and Khatauli assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.

In these by-elections, there is a direct contest between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the alliance of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).

Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress have not fielded their candidates in these by-elections.

According to the information received from the State Election Office, the voting for the by-election will start at seven in the morning, which will continue till six in the evening and the results will be announced on December 8.

A total of 24 lakh 43 thousand voters will be able to exercise their franchise in these by-elections.

These include 13 lakh 14 thousand men, 11 lakh 29 thousand women and 132 other category voters.

1945 polling stations and 3062 polling places have been made for the by-election.

According to the Election Commission, elaborate security arrangements have been made to conduct the polls in a free and fair manner.

The Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat has fallen vacant due to the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.

On the other hand, Rampur Sadar assembly seat Azam Khan was sentenced to three years imprisonment for giving hate speech and Khatauli seat BJP MLA Vikram Singh Saini was sentenced to two years imprisonment in a case related to Muzaffarnagar riots. has become vacant due to

Mainpuri Lok Sabha and Rampur Sadar assembly constituencies have been strongholds of the Samajwadi Party for a long time.

Therefore, this by-election will bring a far-reaching message for him.

However, these by-elections will not have any effect on the BJP governments at the Center and in the state as the BJP has a numerical strength of more than absolute majority in both the places.

But the victory or defeat in these by-elections can have a psychological impact on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to the Election Commission, where six candidates are in the fray in Mainpuri.

At the same time, 10 candidates are trying their luck in Sadar in Rampur and 14 in Khatauli.

Mulayam Singh Yadav's elder daughter-in-law and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav is in the fray in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election.

At the same time, Raghuraj Singh Shakya is contesting from BJP's side.

Shakya was once a close associate of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia chief and Shivpal Singh Yadav, uncle of SP President Akhilesh Yadav.

Earlier this year, he had joined the BJP ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Azam Khan's close aide Asim Raja has been made SP's candidate for Rampur Sadar seat while BJP has once again fielded Akash Saxena, son of former MLA Shiv Bahadur Saxena.

In Khatauli seat, Rajkumari Saini, wife of the outgoing MLA Vikram Singh Saini, is in the fray as a BJP candidate while SP's ally Rashtriya Lok Dal has fielded Madan Bhaiya.

In these by-elections, both SP and BJP did not give their full strength in campaigning.

On behalf of the BJP, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak and state BJP President Bhupendra Singh Choudhary campaigned, while SP President Akhilesh Yadav did not participate in the campaign during the Azamgarh and Rampur Lok Sabha bypolls in June this year. Took command of deputy election campaign.

Also organized a joint rally with Azam Khan and Dalit leader Chandrashekhar Azad in favor of SP candidate Asim Raja in Rampur Sadar area.

Rashtriya Lok Dal President Jayant Chaudhary remained in Khatauli area in support of his candidate, after a long time the entire Yadav family appeared together in Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency.

During this, forgetting the mutual tension, Akhilesh touched the feet of his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav several times on the public stage.

Criticizing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Shivpal Yadav compared him to pendulum and football.

On the other hand, Azam Khan sought votes from the public while crying out for the 'oppression' being done on him.

A day before voting, the Samajwadi Party has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of distributing liquor and money.

The Samajwadi Party has said that it will complain about this to the Election Commission.  

Dimple Yadav, daughter-in-law and wife of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, is contesting the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat, which fell vacant after the death of late Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.

He has tweeted that, "Hundreds of BJP leaders and workers are continuously distributing liquor and money at Hotel Palm, Station Road, Mainpuri."

Election Commission should take cognizance of the matter. 

The Samajwadi Party has said that its delegation will complain to the Election Commission.

A complaint will be made to the district administration of Mainpuri and Rampur.

The party has said that state president Naresh Uttam Patel will go to the Election Commission.

SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary and MLA will also be present with him.

SP MLAs can also sit on dharna regarding this issue.
