In the afternoon of December 5, SBU raids took place on the territory of the Mgarsky Transfiguration Men's Monastery and dioceses of the Moscow Patriarchate, located near Luben, Poltava Region.

The security forces carried out counter-intelligence measures on the territory of the Mgarsky Transfiguration Men's Monastery of the Poltava and Myrhorod Eparchy of the UOC and the diocesan administration of the Kremenchug and Lubensk Eparchy of the UOC. 

Law enforcement officers inspected the premises and premises.

They were looking, in particular, for persons who may be involved in illegal activities to the detriment of the state sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as items prohibited for circulation.

"Given the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, these measures are carried out, including, to prevent the use of religious communities as a center of "Russian peace" and to protect the population from provocations and terrorist acts," the message reads.

The searches were conducted by the National Police and security forces of the Security Service of Ukraine.

All actions take place within the limits of current legislation.
