[Reporter Hong Chenhong/Kaohsiung Report] The water situation in Tainan is yellow. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qimai inspected the Daquan Underflow Water Project today. The Water Conservancy Bureau of the Kaohsiung Municipal Government pointed out that the water situation next year may be more severe than the 100-year drought at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. Chen Chi-mai demanded that ensuring the safe water supply for people's livelihood should be the priority; he also said that Kaohsiung and Tainan's water resources are mutual backup, and Kaohsiung will support 200,000 tons of tap water per day in Tainan.

The water situation in Tainan is a yellow light, while Chiayi is a green light. Although Kaohsiung maintains a blue light, relevant data shows that the water situation will be severe next year. Chen Qimai went to the Daquan Water Purification Plant in Dashu District to care about the progress of the deep water well project and demanded that it be completed on schedule and with quality.

The Bureau of Water Conservancy stated that the central government has assessed that Kaohsiung will have a stable water supply until the end of February next year. In view of the expected low rainfall in the next season, various emergency measures for drought relief have been prepared in advance, and 8 more drought relief wells will be dug at the Daquan Water Purification Plant 32,000 tons per day will be completed by the end of February, with a total daily water supply of about 700,000 to 812,000 tons of backup water, ensuring that citizens will have water available when they turn on the taps.
