Russian occupiers launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine on December 5.

Missiles hit infrastructure objects and residential buildings, there are casualties.

As a result of shelling, there were emergency power outages in the regions of Ukraine.

In total, today the Russian Federation launched more than 70 Kalibr cruise missiles, X-101/X-555, X-59 in Ukraine.

Air defense forces shot down more than 60 missiles.

Ukrainian air defense shot down enemy missiles in Poltava region, Kharkiv region, Cherkasy region, Vinnytsia region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Kyiv region.

The troops of the Air Command "East" shot down 15 missiles.

The Russians launched 10 missiles at Kyiv, of which 9 were shot down.

On Monday, December 5, President

Volodymyr Zelensky

 recorded a video address to the citizens of Ukraine.

He noted the good work of the anti-aircraft defense and said that the energy workers have already begun to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

"I wish you good health! I want to thank the air defense forces, our energy workers and our people. The

air defense forces shot down most of the missiles. The energy workers have already started to restore the light

. Our people never give up. Glory to Ukraine!", the appeal reads.

Consequences of the attack

There was information about the consequences of the attack.

So, rockets bombed several private houses in the

Zaporizhzhia region

– two people were killed and two more were injured.

In

the Kyiv region, the

occupiers fired rockets at an energy facility, emergency power outages continue in the region.

Odesa 

was left without water supply - all pumping stations were cut off due to rocket fire by the occupiers. 

As a result of a massive missile attack, the energy infrastructure of

Odesa region

was damaged .

There are also hits on civilian houses and civilian infrastructure objects.

Two people were injured.

Electricity supply disappeared in Odesa and most communities of the Odesa district.

All services are on the ground and have already started to restore the electricity supply, said the head of Odesa OVA Maksym Marchenko.

Emergency power outages

"Ukrenergo" confirmed that there are hits on energy infrastructure facilities and related emergency power outages.

The company emphasized that Ukrenergo dispatchers are working to maintain balance in the energy system.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine,

Denys Shmygal

, reported that energy objects were hit in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions.

In some regions, emergency shutdowns have been forced to balance the system and avoid accidents.

Shmyhal assured that rescuers and energy workers are already working on elimination of the consequences of the attack

According to him, Russia once again failed to implement its criminal plan to plunge Ukraine into darkness and cold.
