The STOP HATE SPEECH conference is a timely event at a time when more and more attempts are creeping in to replace the ideas of unity and multiculturalism with the disintegration of society, and hate speech is sometimes even used at an institutional level.

This was stated by Ilhan Kyuchuk

Ilhan Kyuchyuk was born on September 16, 1985 in the town of Sevlievo.

In the European elections in May 2014, is a MEP from the Renew Europe Group in the EP and co-chair of the European Liberals, in a video message addressed to the participants of the forum opened earlier today by the Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev. 

"I highly appreciate the declared readiness of the Bulgarian prosecutor's office to oppose and actively counter the spread of anti-Semitic attitudes and hate speech," said Ilhan Kyuchuk

At the European elections in May 2014, he stressed that preventing and combating hate speech and crime based on ethnic and religious intolerance was "vital" for democratic societies.

"It is also a matter of citizens' understanding of the erosive nature of this phenomenon and the commitment of national authorities.

That is why I am particularly happy when forums like the one initiated by you are organized," the MEP addressed the organizers. 

"History has clearly shown that hate crimes are not crimes against an individual, but a danger to our European way of life," added the MEP from the Renew Europe Group and wished for fruitful discussions at the conference.
