Activists from the "Last Generation" movement once again blocked traffic in Munich by sticking to the road surface, DPA reported.

The demonstration is part of a resurgence of climate protests.

A police spokesman reported that 9 people stuck to the road surface and stopped traffic around the iconic Karlsplatz square.

They wore reflective vests and held placards to draw attention to their demands.

Police described the disruption to traffic as "moderate".

"Last Generation" announced a few days ago that it will resume its protests after a week-long break and will continue to attack city transport centers.

In recent weeks, they have blocked roads, damaged works of art and stopped air traffic at Berlin's Brandenburg Airport for two hours.

Some activists were detained in Bavaria as a precaution because they announced their intention to cause disturbances.

In addition to its environmental goals, the organization wants to demand that the speed on the highways be limited to 100 km/h and that the monthly train travel card costs 9 euros.

The airport protest led to widespread condemnation of some of the group's tactics.

The interior minister of Germany's most populous state, North Rhine-Westphalia, said today that the activists had "crossed the line".

Herbert Royle said on Deutschlandfunk radio that "the state cannot just stand by and watch" allowing such actions.
