Ukrainian diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi believes that the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhiy Shoigu came to Minsk to inspect the readiness of the occupiers to attack Ukraine.

He said this in a comment to TSN.ua.

"The essence of these changes lies in the operational management of the troops. That is, these are interdepartmental agreements that were concluded in 2015-2017. They were concluded between the ministries of defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the border services of both countries. Their essence was that in order to ensure the security of the border and national security, Belarus uses Russian troops, and Russia uses Belarusian ones. Changes have been made there regarding operational intervention and the number of these troops. The fact is that the agreement on the Union State between the Russian Federation and Belarus has a provision that an operational command is created within the borders of this state and troops. I am convinced that these changes concern the unification for their management by the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces," Bezsmertny explained.

The Ukrainian diplomat emphasized that Shoigu could inspect the readiness of the occupiers to attack Ukraine.

"And it was not by chance that Shoigu was there. He conducted an inspection and met with representatives of the General Staff, they reported to him about the number of anti-aircraft batteries undergoing training on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Most of these meetings were closed. I think there was talk of the probable use of troops to attack Ukraine and conduct operational-staff exercises. But so far these are only operational-staff exercises, however, anything can be hidden behind this," explained Roman Bezsmertny.

The role of Belarus in the war against Ukraine

On February 24, the Russian army of occupation moved from the territory of Belarus to Ukraine.

This state also provides its territories for missile attacks by Ukraine.

The self-proclaimed president of the Republic of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, admitted that his country is participating in the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia and even called on the Ukrainian authorities to capitulate, threatening to "destroy Ukraine."

Now there are Russian mobilized in Belarus.

This country also supplies armored vehicles to the aggressor.
