The Security Service of Ukraine detained in Kherson the ex-manager of the Bank of the Russian Federation, who, on the instructions of Gauleiter Saldo, was introducing a "ruble zone" in the city.

This was reported by the SBU press center.

Thus, it is noted that the attacker turned out to be the head of the former branch of the "international settlement bank" controlled by the Russian Federation, which opened its "branches" in the occupied regions of southern Ukraine.

"It was through this Russian "financial institution" that Volodymyr Saldo, the Gauleiter of the captured part of the Kherson region, tried to set up more than 200 bank "representative offices" of the aggressor country in the region. In this way, the Russians planned to forcefully introduce a "ruble zone" in the occupied territory of the region and ensure additional revenues to the budget of the Russian Federation Most of the money received was supposed to be used to finance an aggressive war against Ukraine," the report says.

It was established that during the occupation of Kherson, such a task was performed in the Ukrainian city by a former employee of a local bank.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he supported the invaders and voluntarily agreed to head one of the branches of the Russian financial institution.

"He arranged his "workplace" in the building of the temporarily captured Ukrainian state bank. While in the "post", the enemy henchman forced local entrepreneurs to switch to commercial settlements in Russian rubles and deduct part of the profits for the benefit of the occupation administration," the SBU noted and added, that after the liberation of Kherson, the attacker tried to "lie down" in one of the city's hospitals, but his location was established and he was detained.

So far, the investigators of the Security Service have informed the suspect of the suspicion under Part 1 of Art.

111-2 (assistance to the aggressor state) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.

We will remind that after the liberation of Kherson, law enforcement officers continue to expose collaborators who collaborated with the occupiers in the city and region.

So, on December 2, the SBU reported that
