The situation in Donbas is tense.

The tactics of the Russians changed with the arrival of the commander of the combined army group of the aggressor country, General Serhiy Surovikin.

The commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi told about this in an exclusive interview with TSN.

"The situation on the Eastern Front is very tense. The enemy attacks our units every day. Tactics have changed with the appointment of Surovikin. There has been an increase in both air and missile strikes. The enemy has switched to the tactics of assault units," Sirskyi said.

Regarding the desire to seize Bakhmut at any cost, Commander Sirsky noted that the city has no strategic importance for the occupiers from a military point of view.

At the same time, Bakhmut is important for the Russian command in a psychological sense.

"After a series of losses suffered by the enemy, this is symbolic for him. That's why he is trying in every way to take over this city, hold the defense, raise the level of morale and psychological state of his personnel," the commander added.

According to him, the Bakhmut area has always been special.

"The enemy set the goal of restraining the defense a few months ago. There were 6-7 deadlines when the Russians were supposed to take over this city, but each time our soldiers foiled the enemy's plans. Thus, each time the enemy started again: changed commanders, troops, increased their numbers. However, during all this time, it advanced to a maximum of 5 km," added Syrskyi.

We will remind, earlier the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, told how the tactics of the occupying army changed after the appointment of Serhii Surovykin as the head of the occupying group of troops.

The general is called the "Syrian butcher.

Surovikin's uncompromising and brutal approach to waging war is also noted.
